Luka Vogrinčič (2010) Motor control with PIC 18D2455 microcontroller. EngD thesis.
Abstract
It is a common idea in secondary technical and vocational computer and electrotechnical programs to merge the knowledge from the fields of computer science and electrotechnics. This knowledge being sometimes specific to only one field, in my case computer science, it can be difficult to realize this idea by oneself. At the level of secondary electrotechnical and computer science schools and universities, projects that comprise electrotechnics and computer science seem to be of frequent occurrence. The projects involve secondary and university students, in various competitions, programming robots and devices by means of a particular programming language. Without the assistance of a mentor the tasks are difficult to be accomplished. My thesis focuses on how the right choice of programming tools designed to program microcontrollers, available and not expensive hardware, a creative idea, and minimum knowledge in computer science, this idea can be made into a final product. This work aims to show how to control various kinds of motors by the help of the microcontroller PIC18F2455.
