Abstract

This thesis addresses the technical side of implementing national health information system in the project eZdravje with an emphasis on electronic health record and teleradiology. Content covers the concept of project eZdravje, basic components and the expected overall system architecture. In this context, I focused on the designed implementation of electronic health record, followed by the presentation of standards necessary for interoperability of different applications. In closer overview of the electronic health record I have introduced the possible ways of organizing data and problems in the transfer of large data amounts from radiology examinations. In the last part of my work I have examined the solutions in other countries around the world. Also, I have overviewed software and hardware solution service providers in the field of healthcare. Finally, I have introduced the initial steps for implementing the electronic health record and the placement of it into existing health information systems.
