    Abstract

The thesis analyses and compares various web browsers. The focus is on the latest versions of currently most used web browsers: Internet Explorer 8, Firefox 3.6, Google Chrome 8.0, Safari 5.0 and Opera 11.01. The first part of the assignment focuses on novelties and improvements of these web browsers. It compares their appearance, usage simplicity, functionality, stability, etc. Web browsers are also compared from the user´s point of view. The second part presents three measurement categories. These are the JavaScript processing, uploading speed of websites and use of memory. To increase the objectivity the thesis uses WRL method that shows which web browsers are most appropriate for average user.
