    Abstract

    This thesis deals with business process management, SAP information system and SAP Netweaver Composition Environment tool. The content is divided in three main area. In first we try to explain foundations of business process management, like definition of business process, basic principles of business process management, business process life-cycle, designing and executing business processes. Two standards are emphasized: business process modeling notation and service-oriented arhitecture. The next part covers the SAP-based information system and its limitations, which we want to solve with use of business process management suite. The main issue are specific processes, which can not be supported by solution SAP Business Suite. Beside introduction in SAP world, we also present the current status on market for this kind of tools. At the end of second part we select one tool and explain, why solution is appropriate for given business requirements. Last part is meant for presentation of selected tool SAP Netweaver Composition Environment, which contains all necessary attributes to provide the business process life-cycle.
