    Abstract

Warehouses have been in use for a long time, there is a considerable amount of them all over the world and a decrease is not yet in sight, they are even increasing. Centuries and decades ago the phrase »Time is Money« did not such a big meaning as it has today, therefore it is of great importance to prepare products for despatch out of the warehouses as fast as possible. Everybody managing a warehouse wishes to manage their business at the lowest possible expense, therefore the optimum strategy of warehouse proceedings has to be taken care for. It is well known that commissioning is not a negligible component of warehouse expenses (gathering/collecting products for orders) therefore in the diploma work we would like to introduce possible solutions how warehouses, which do not use it in practice, could reduce their expenses. Besides this we have prepared a programme which would help to introduce these solutions in practice, but, as we will see later on, the definition of a proper location for several hundred articles in the warehouse would demand a great deal of time and later the arrangement of a suitable order for collecting articles all over the warehouse.
