    Abstract

Smartphones have bloomed in the market of mobile devices in the past years. Google's operating system Android is daily gaining on popularity and is overtaking the role of the primary operating system for mobile devices. The goal of my thesis is a development mobile application for showing measurements of different sensors. This is data, saved on a server in an XML form, which can be viewed on a smartphone with an Android platform installed. To understand the contents of the thesis I have described the mobile technology and software, going from the mobile networks, mobile devices, smartphones to presenting the five biggest mobile platforms. In the second part of the thesis I present the structure of the mobile application in it's functionalities. I present the data, which is read from the server. There are two available views to show the data, one is a text based representation, where we see the temperature along with the time and date. The other is a graphical representation, where a graph is drawn, showing the values of the temperatures on a vertical axis dependent of the date of the measurements on the horizontal axis. In the end there is a brief representation of the application testing.
