Jaka Šporin (2014) Web application for students to apply for an international exchange. EngD thesis.
Abstract
The thesis presents the development of a web application, intended for the application of students of the Faculty of Computer and Information Science for an Erasmus study exchange or practical training. In the first part of the thesis we mainly focus on the purposes and aims of the application development. We also briefly present the so far application procedure of students for the study exchange and training, which took place without the web application. In the main part of the thesis are thoroughly described the substantial steps of the web application development from the user’s and technical point of view. The user’s point of view includes the presentation of the application’s main features, namely its functionality and workflow. From the technical point of view are presented all used technologies and software. We also thoroughly presented the development of some key components of the application that are crucial for its functioning, and larger issues, that we were facing during its development. In the final part of the thesis we present the main findings, to which we came during the development of the application. We assessed, if all initial aims were realized and if the application has all the functionalities that we have set before the development. In this part of the thesis are also briefly presented some possibilities for further development of the application.
