Nina Mejač (2014) Development of a tool for obtaining the elevation of a selected location. EngD thesis.
Abstract
Tool Elevation, which is developed in C\# with the Visual Studio development environment, is a tool that returns the elevation of a selected location or a group of locations. The elevation is read from the binary file, which contains the elevations of terrain. The basic use of this tool is the tracing of a terrain profile marked by a user on the map. This map is a part of the application in which Elevation tool is integrated. We present another two applications of the tool, namely tracing of the eye contact and plotting the contour lines. Three main tasks were solved to develop the tool: - using different coordinate systems and transformation between them, - time optimization of reading the elevations from binary files, - maximal accuracy of the elevation of the selected location. It is obtained by data interpolation read from the files with different accuracy levels.
