Rok Prodan (2014) Modeling and simulation of building heat losses. EngD thesis.
Abstract
Energy efficient use in buildings for heating, cooling and ventilation purposes is going to represent one of the main research areas in incoming years. Mainly because of the desire for energy independence as well as necessity for costs reduction. Seeking for a set of solutions which would lead to optimal energy consumption on real building case is time consuming, complex and especially cost ineffective process. To overcome this problem a simplified building thermal model is presented and developed in this thesis. This model is essential in predicting heating and cooling requirements for performance monitoring as well as for heating and cooling methods development and analysis. Several different heating and cooling methods were then simulated on the implemented mathematical building model. Finally simulation results for a time frame of one week in winter and summer seasons from a test reference year were presented.
