    Abstract

A web application for the European Network of Artists VOX ARTAE has been developed as my diploma work. The project was initiated by the Union of Slovene Fine Arts Associations (ZDSLU). The objectives of VOX ARTAE are: to connect different associations of artists in Europe, enable a more effective presentation of artworks and artists, accelerate the sale and rental of artworks, enable the exchange of studios between artists. In the first part of the thesis the technology and tools which we used for the development of the application are presented, such as PHP programming language, web technologies (HTML, CSS, AJAX, JavaScript, SQL), libraries and frameworks (JQuery, PHPmailer, Twitter, bootstrap, Codeigniter). MySQL database is used for storing data. In the second part of the thesis we discuss how the user interface of the web application VOX ARTAE is designed and how it is used. The web application is composed of a front-end and back-end part which enables different types of users, such as artists, guests, administrators, any viewer. A special section is devoted to the presentation of the graphic design of the user interface. The application is designed so that the screen width is adjusted to any viewing device. The application has not yet been introduced into the working environment, it is in the testing phase.
