Matej Vehar (2015) Optimization of software product localization process. EngD thesis.
Abstract
In order to facilitate the distribution of software on international markets, adaptation of software products is required. This is especially important for end-user applications which need to be accessible and usable in different cultural and linguistic environments. The various steps taken to make software fit for foreign markets are collectively called software localization. The integration of the localization process into the software development cycle is presented in the first part of the thesis. A case study of a prominent Slovenian software company was used to identify the key issues with the implementation of the process and to propose an alternative tool for software localization management. The selection process is presented in the second part of the thesis, followed by an analysis of the selected solution as well as the changes in the localization process in order to evaluate whether the identified shortcomings were mitigated successfully
