    Abstract

In this thesis, a prototype of a table lamp has been developed. The operation of the lamp can be controlled on a smartphone or a tablet via a mobile application for the Android operating system. The lamp can also be controlled via a web application from any computer connected to the network. Users can choose between different modes of operation; among them, the most important is the circadian rhythm mode that provides the user with the optimal well-being lighting. The back-end part of the system, which responds to the actions of the user, is powered by a Raspberry Pi that in turn controls the table lamp via designed hardware prototype board. In our diploma thesis, we first studied the effect of light of different colors on the human being. Among them, we focused on the orange and blue light. We have also designed all the necessary software, hardware and a wiring diagram and have created the standalone product prototype in the existing table lamp housing.
