    Abstract

Game development covers a spectrum of different areas - if we want to create a game we have to be a skillful programmer and be familiar with the principles of computer graphics and its mathematical fundations. We also need to design a game, both in terms of gameplay and visual style, create sound effects and the soundtrack for the game. Having an original idea and thinking creatively is also a key part of game development, so that our game stands out from all others that are available on the market. An independent game developer has to take care of all these aspects and join them together in an interesting game that will attract and motivate our players. This work demonstrates the process of creating a video game. It describes required tools, standard game development steps and explains why and how they were used during this process.
