In order to make the process of tracking eating habits easier and to educate individuals about appropriate food intake, the thesis describes the development of nutrition application which communicates with the kitchen scale. Based on the field analysis, the functionalities that improve user experience were identified. Field research helped determine the most common mistakes of the eating habits of Slovenians. Considering these findings, the application for Android operating system was designed. By monitoring the composition of consumed meals with the aid of a small and portable kitchen scale it allows simple tracking of nutrients and kind of food that are graphically compared to the recommended food intake values.
