    Abstract

In the first chapter the company and the department I work in are briefly presented. In the following chapters the ZC NLB application and its main components are described. ZC NLB (the NLB bank assembly center) is a computerised application through which data is sorted, collected, controlled and forwarded. This data is taken from business partners and other banks. I introduced the ZC Bankart which the ZC NLB exchange its data with. The structure of the data is precisely fixed. When data comes in ZC NLB the structure is expanded with some new attributes. With these attributes we can insure transaction traceability. Transaction is written in the database where we can monitor its status, the state the transaction is in and the one it must transfer into next. The ZC NLB receives its data out of a number of inputs. A web interface represents one of these inputs, which is why I presented the main properties and risks to be aware of in the creation of the web interface. As most programmes are written in the COBOL computer language , and they access the DB2 database, the programme language and the DB2 are also presented. To execute the Cobol programmes one needs to be familiar with the JCL, which is also illustrated in the chapter following. In the continuation, the MQ is depicted. This is a way of asynchronised and synchronised communication among different systems within an application. The multipurpose data communication system CICS is tightly connected to the web part of the application. It can function as a special operating subsystem, as environment for the executing of the online application programme, or as an interface for file and database access.
