    Abstract

    This diploma paper describes the process of developing and upgrading the information system for electronic provision of services by Abanka. First the existing application is presented which is designed for receiving and processing banking service orders placed via the internet, and then its upgrade involving orders for entering the umbrella fund managed by Abančna DZU is introduced. A short presentation is given of the company Abanka acting as both the client and user of the system. User requirements as well as technological, legal and commercial limitations encountered in the process of development are specifed. Particulars of the bank's information system to which the application concerned is linked as well as the tools and technologies used in its development are given. Further on, the very procedure of developing the application, its testing and putting into operation are described. By way of conclusion, operation of the application from the users' point of view is illustrated, the problems encountered during the phase of development and some ideas for further development are given.
