    Abstract

Waterfall printers already exist but are not widely used because, beside the planing, the cost of the components is very high. With this thesis I wanted to make a home version of the waterfall printer with easily accessible components and then compare the results with a professional one. This thesis describes what the waterfall printer is and how it works. The project consists of three main parts. The first part is a computer program developed in Delphi environment which represents the user interface to control the printer. Beside the functions of the program, it is explained how the PPM image format is made and how it is used. Second part is electronics that is needed to trigger the electromagnets. Electromagnets are embedded in the water reservoir which is the last part of the waterfall printer. Describing the mechanical parts of the water reservoir I show the methods used for manufacturing individual parts with possible ways of further development.
