Janez Cesar (2013) DETERMINATION OF THE EYE CENTER USING CURVES OF CONSTANT INTENSITY. EngD thesis.
Abstract
As part of the thesis we have examined the current state of face recognition and recognition of facial parts as well as tracking the specific characteristics and forms. We focused mainly on the eyes. We implemented a procedure for determining the location of accurate eye center location using isophote curvature. These results was then compared to existing methods. Tracking the movement and localization of the eye is now used for many research and commercial purposes. We review current approaches to detect eye movements and determine the direction of view. We focus on procedures, which do not require additional hardware or lighting. Technology of detecting eye center location and gaze will become an important interface for communication between humans and computers.
