Davorin Ekmečič (2013) Analysis of matching cross-border electricity exchange schedules. EngD thesis.
Abstract
Electricity markets in Europe are opening up. New business opportunities and increasing volume of electricity trading represent a challenge to the operators of transmission systems, who have to check scheduled programs (verify that production, trades and consumption are balanced) and ensure system stability even in case of deviations from planned schedules. The purpose of this thesis was to analyze the protocol for exchange of planned schedules according to ENTSO-E ESS 3.3 standard, evaluate the real world implementation state at system operators, assess issues and problems, and find possible solutions. The conclusions of this thesis will benefit software developers, who develop systems in the field of electricity transfer scheduling.
