    Abstract

In this thesis we deal with social networks, linkages between them and what kind of information we can acquire from them. In the first part we focus on the social networks in general, we have presented a brief history of the development of social networks and listed most popular networks today. Some of these networks are also described in details. In the middle section we thoroughly analyzed selected social networks. We presented the reasons for choosing selected social networks and described the protocol for the authorization with social networking platforms. Followed by a detailed analysis of what information can be obtained from social networks, how they are categorized and what rights they require. The last part is dedicated to the description of software solutions and our findings. First we present the technology we have used and then the data model. Follows a detailed description of the application that connects social networks with each other and displays the data in one place. Finally, we present the results which we obtained during the development of application and possible extensions.
