    Abstract

The goal of this thesis is to develop a mobile web application designed to fit most of the mobile and desktop environments by utilizing some of the newest web technologies. The application is used as an electronic reader for digital content, such as magazines and newspapers. We briefly describe the history of electronic readers and some of the technologies that were used in the development. We will try to implement the same functionality that is already present in the native application. The implementation itself is split into two parts: the development of a web portal and of an electronic reader. We describe each part and present the work we did on the reader optimization. We compare the differences between native mobile application development and web mobile development and also present those differences on a real life implementation example − the Trafika platform.
