    Abstract

    The purpose of the present thesis is to develop an application, which would transcode video content from different providers to a form appropriate for broadcasting over a IPTV network. Among the capabilities of the application are downloading of remote content, parsing XML files, transcoding to MPEG2 and h264 formats, uploading finished files with the SCP protocol, distributing the workload and notification of users through e-mail. The thesis describes, where in the great scheme of systems our application is placed. It offers an overview of tools and technologies used during development and the methodology for preizkusing optimal encoder settings and presents a summary description of the user interface along with the main application functionality and database schema.
