Abstract

Evaluation of information systems success is crucially important for the realization of organizational necessity of investing in them and indispensable dimension of any reasoned attempt to attain the real added value of using them. To get a holistic view, we need to focus on both the technical as well as the social aspects of the evaluation. That is, because the value of information systems is almost always expressed in intangible benefits, such as supporting the user in performing work tasks, supporting organizational process and organizational mission, etc. Sum of all these desirable features of information system is effectiveness of it's use and hence it's success. In our work we propose a model for analysis of success of information systems, formulated on the basis of the DeLone and McLean success model. The model was empirically tested with a case study in Slovenia. The results of the case study show that the proposed model enables summative evaluation of the quality of the information system, as well as a detailed analysis of the quality of its individual parts as basis for improvements.
