Matej Božič (2013) STM32F4 based weather station. EngD thesis.
Abstract
The goal of the thesis was to design and develop a simple weather station, which would collect data from the relevant sensors and display them on a LCD within an user friendly interface. The description of tools and elements used, along with their use and implementation, are also presented. The result is a working weather station with wireless data transmission. The system consists of 2 microcontrollers, based on the ARM architecture with a Cortex-M4F core, a RF transmitter and receiver, relevant sensors for reading the basic weather data (temperature, relative humidity, atmospheric pressure, wind speed and direction) and a touch screen LCD display. The central part describes the programming implementation of data acquisition and processing, RF communication and receiver data displaying. Finally the user interface is described, which allows the interaction between the user and the weather station. Featured is also the common misalignment problem of touch screens along with its calibration algorithm.
