Abstract

The thesis presents a development of software application solution, which solves the problem of many purpose built electronic document capture and conversion tools. The primary aim of those tools was: document capture from an external information system, triggering workflows (triggering computerised workflow processes in different BPM platforms) and archiving documents in to electronic archive systems. Over time these solutions were starting to pile up, which resided in a costly development and maintenance. The objective was to develop a uniform solution that would cover most of the current functionality and enable preparation of a new document processing job, to a human resource without knowledge of programing a new solution. The final product has been devised for this purpose, as a server application which uses software plugins to add all the functionality of old tools separated into single programme blocks that can be used for every processing job. Plugins itself are categorized to the following categories: Separation, validation, conversion and release plugins. The plugins can be developed separately from the main server application, through the use of the specified API interface.
