Grujić Maja (2014) Doo-Sabin subdivision scheme. EngD thesis.
Abstract
Subdivision is a method of representing a smooth curve or a surface. The subdivision process begins with a polygonal mesh. Refinement rules are then applied to this mesh and in a limit a smooth surface is produced. There is a variety of existing subdivision schemes, that can be classified based on different criteria. In this work Doo-Sabin subdivision scheme for surfaces is presented, which is connected to biquadratic B-splines. The aim is to find this connection and to practically present the scheme for regular and irregular vertices. Doo-Sabin scheme for regular vertices is also implemented in Matlab environment.
