Abstract
The thesis presents the needs of a specific Slovenian company for IT solutions and development of a web application or web store which meets those needs and eases the communication between customers and the company. The technologies used and the procedure of creating a web application are described in detail. The first part of the thesis presents the company itself, particularly the existing IT system to which the web application will be connecting. ERP systems are also presented in detail. The next part presents the purpose and the requirements which the web application should meet. The B2B (Business to Business) marketing strategy of the company is also presented. The main part of the thesis defines the developmental technologies used and their use in the development of web application. The development of the application and the use of multi-level architecture for adaptive, transparent, and easily upgradeable source code of the application are described in detail. The libraries and other tools which were used to implement the solution are presented; from database design, object model, to user interface and complete programme solution. The last part contains the conclusion which describes the evaluation of the new web application and general satisfaction of the company and its customers. In the evaluation of the web application, we mostly focused on meeting the goals and requirements of the company which the final product should fulfil. Some unplanned system upgrades, which the company would want to implement in the future, are also described.
