    Abstract

I tried to present a brief overview of computer and information science theory development. It seems to me that implementation theory might just be the next step of computer and information science theory. An effort has been made to present this challenging issue with cases and theory of international ERP system implementations. I have focused on a specific finance and accounting software implementation case at an express-logistic company. All the challenges of this demanding project with the detailed analysis have been pointed out. The implementation was a big challenge due to the company merger, which was running in the background. Based on the project implementation plan and experiences from my involvement in the project I offered elements of general implementation theory potentially usable for most software implementations.
