    Abstract

This work focuses on the use of mobile devices for the purpose of collecting detailed data about Wi-Fi access points. We developed an application capable of collecting and sharing that data over the internet. It is also capable of a detailed representation for each network. This is achieved by collecting multiple measurement points for each network and displaying them on a map. Our approach produces more accurate and detailed network representations on a map compared to existing applications on the market. Possible extensions to the current application include various analyses regarding Wi-Fi networks. For example, we could use the collected data to see how the ranges of networks change with time or to analyse trends in Wi-Fi security.
