    Abstract

    Today, search engines are an important source of information for internet users. Whenever user performs a search, search engines display a vast number of results. Results are ranked by search engines’ own algorithms, which are not public. If a website owner wants his website to be found in search engines and consequently wants to generate traffic to the website through search engines, the website must appear among the first search results. Website’s position within the search engine results depends on its optimality, which is one of the key elements of a successful digital marketing strategy. Position, in turn, affects the amount of traffic to the website. Website optimality can be improved with the search engine optimization process, which considers technical aspect and website content. We designed an app as an online tool, which provides assistance in the assessment of the technical optimality of individual website and thus replaces the majority of manual work that is usually done by experts. To this end, we have developed a web spider that crawls and indexes individual subpages and makes the assessment of different optimality parameters. The application enables the rapid acquisition of basic information for preliminary analysis, which tells us, how good a particular website is technically optimized and in which areas the website can improve its optimality.
