    Abstract

    This document presents a way of teaching the elective course of informatics in a secondary school. Lesson plans for LEGO MINDSTORMS robot use at classes forms part of this paper as well. The content focuses mainly on programming, however it also refers to other themes that constitute a part of Informatics class in a secondary school. Lesson plans were prepared in accordance with the guidelines of the currently valid curriculum for Informatics class in secondary schools and the guidelines of the international curriculum for teaching computer science (Computer Science Curricula 2013). They also include themes and examples that are considered useful for the students’ final exam matura.
