    Abstract

Due to many unsuccessful implementations of information systems and huge financial investments, it is important to understand, which factors influence IS success in the enterprise the most. One of the important factors in IS success is the alignment between IS characteristics and key stakeholders of the enterprise. To be able to measure and improve this alignment, we have developed a model for evaluation of the alignment between IS and the interests of key stakeholders of the enterprise. We have defined key factors, which influence alignment and allow enterprises to efficiently recognize critical factors and improve them. Using questionnaires, we empirically tested the model. The results confirm our initial hypothesis, that a high degree of alignment between IS and key stakeholders positively influences IS success. We have presented our findings to the enterprise and proposed potential improvements. Statistical results, as well as the response of enterprise's top management, have shown, that the model is useful and helps to identify key issues of alignment between IS and the interests of key stakeholders.
