    Abstract

    Computer vision is an area where the goal is object and subject recognition in real time. For decades experts are trying hard to solve the problem of object recognition but is seems that the complexity of the problem and limited computing power are still being tough obstacles to avoid. Computer vision is present in vast areas such as industrial area, medicine, astronomy and lately in computer games. The work includes overview of systems that use computer vision as a tool to achieve better user experience in playing games. We will see different approaches authors of these systems used to solve the problem of computer vision. The main focus of this work is presentation of an application that uses a new approach in creating a better user experience in computer gaming. Application tries to create an illusion that the 3D game world experience is similar to the real world experience. This is accomplished with a web camera that tracks the face of the user and an algorithm that translates real world head position to game world camera position. A special section is dedicated for discussion on the general usefulness of application and problems, some of which are solvable, some not.
