    Abstract

    Search engine optimization (SEO) is used to achieve better website positions in search engine results pages, for specific keywords. Visitor enters a keyword, which is either a word or phrase, in a search box and search engine returns websites which qualify for that keyword. Better position in search engine result pages (SERP) attracts more visitors and increases probability to sell products or services. Search engine optimization is an ongoing process, because competition is always creating new websites that could take webiste place in SERP. SEO can be divided in two main fields of work. On-site optimization consists of research and analysis for specifying keywords, which would increase website visits, HTML optimization (head, body, title..) and competition analysis. Website topic is described with keywords. Off-site optimization consists of building incoming links for website with different techniques, because incoming links are main ranking factor for achieving better SERP positions. Bachelor degree objective was to optimize website, to increase product awareness, attract more visitors and increase sales. With described methods i achieved better website position in SERP. Position in SERP would continue to improve with implentation of described methods. Search engine optimization will remain an important concept in the future. More and more companies sell their services and products on the web, because people tend to shop on web. Battle for prime positions in SERP will be severe, because better position means more visitors and higher probability to sell product or service.
