    Abstract

    The thesis describes the most important elements of a Web Page and outside factors that affect Search Engine Optimization. The basic structure of a Web page, structure and functionality of a modern Search Engine is described at the beginning. The first section deals with the start of Search Engine Optimization, including planning, analysis of web space and the selection of the most important keywords for which the site will be optimized. The next section Web Page Optimization describes and shows on examples the most important elements of a Webpage that, when properly optimized, contribute to a better placement of the Webpage in the Search Engine Results Page for a specific keyword. In the last chapter the most important methods for Offsite optimization are described, which affect the position of a Webpage in the Results Page the most. Also some Webpages for harvesting quality and useful links are presented.
