Marko Gavranović (2012) Analysys of the N -modular redundant systems. EngD thesis.
Abstract
N -modular redundant systems are composed of paral connected entities, which vote, and of entities, which counts incoming votes. Those entities are called voting machines and voters. The present thesis deals with influences of different parameters of NMR systems. Differentiation of values of those parameters influence on the realibility and life-cycle of the particular system. Two examples are discussed, namely the first, which shows a comparison between the sequential TMR architecture and its breadth, and second, the comparisons between repairable TMR system to reverse 5-modular redundant system and 7-modular system. In the first part of research is investigated the impact the number of voters on the level of voting, and how this parameter affects the reliability of the system . In second part of the research we are interested in the impact of three parameters the intensity of failure λ, the intensity of service of failure μ and the number of voting machines N in a different NMR system. Among these three parameters, there is strong correlation, which affects the reliability of the particular NMR system, as well its life-cycle MTTF .
