    Abstract

For Plama-pur d.d., company which I work for, I have developed and programmed an information system, Performance Dashboards. Based on many discussions with future users, I decided to cover all those business areas that turned out to be of utmost interest for majority of people interviewed. I prepared a plan of Data Warehouse and different procedures, which would be run during the night, and would transfer the data from transaction databases into the data warehouse, using MS SQL Server 2005. Using Analysis Services, based on cleaned and modified data, and with help of predefined data views, I created OLAP cubes for different areas and processes which would be monitored. To programme the dashboards I used Excel, as this tool can synchronise very well with SharePoint, and it is a tool well known to our users, who find it easy to work with. I set up the dashboards on a MS Office SharePoint Server 2007. Based on the experience on users' side, in future we can further develop and extend certain overviews, and discard others. I strongly believe that the dashboards have all the potential for a fruitful life, provided that the data in use would be accurate, and its presentation attractive and simple enough.
